Hello, I'm John Mallery and welcome to my web site. I hope you find it entertaining and informative. I am frustrated by personal web sites that have nothing but family photos and a description of a particular pet's activities. I will try to avoid those pitfalls.

I have a diverse background and diverse interests. I want this website to reflect those interests. I grew up in Philadelphia, went to a "college preparatory school for boys", went to college at the University of Tampa where I studied Marine Science and Biology. After college I worked in a clinical lab performing syphilis tests, was a head cook in a health food restaurant, worked in "the trades" and eventually spent more than a dozen years on the road as a comedy juggler - where I opened for Dennis Miller, Sinbad, Drew Carey and Pat Paulsen. I also appeared in National, Regional and Local television commercials.

I am now a technical trainer and writer focusing on computer security and digital forensics issues. I have taken my experiences as a performer to the corporate world and speak frequently on topics such as, "Data Security and Confidentiality Issues", "Fundamentals of Digital Forensics" and "Bypassing the Best Laid Plans: How They Steal Proprietary Information." My "passions" include gardening, hiking, bird watching and almost any activity associated with the Natural world. I do not pursue these activities alone, I try to share my passions with my family.
